16 Situations That May Qualify for Moving Cost Support
To receive support with moving costs, you must meet at least one of the following conditions. Your welfare office will review your application.
You're in hospital and have no home to return to after discharge.
Your rent has risen above the public assistance limit, and your caseworker has advised you to move.
A national or local authority has asked you to leave because the land is being acquired for public use.
You can no longer live in company housing after leaving your job.
You're leaving a social welfare facility and have no home to move into.
You've been living in temporary accommodation and have been approved to move into your own home.
A long commute has become difficult, and moving closer to work is expected to increase your income and help maintain your health.
Your home has been destroyed or made uninhabitable by fire or a similar event.
Your home is no longer safe to live in because of deterioration or damage.
Your home is clearly too small for the number of people in your household.
Your home has been found unsuitable for recovering from illness, or its layout or facilities do not meet your disability-related needs.
You need to move out of a relative's or friend's home where you've been staying temporarily.
Your landlord has asked you to leave, refused to renew your lease, or given notice to end it.
You need a new home following a divorce.
You're an older adult or a person with a disability who needs to move closer to a relative responsible for your support so you can receive care.
You need to move into a group home, a private senior care home, or an accessible home.
